News Flash 2017 Sept #4

Welcome Back and Eurocio activities for the Sept-Dec 2017 timeframe

Dear EuroCIO Member and Stakeholder,

Welcome back to all of you after a nice holiday period and we hope that you had a great start!

We are sure that you enjoyed at end of June the EuroCIO Summer Summit discussions on the Digital Future of Europe with representation of the European Commission.

We hope that you could relax in the meantime to get ready for the upcoming meetings with the EuroCIO Councils and workgroups and for the project reviews with the European Commission.

EuroCIO had also a great start in September with the joining of Romania CIO Council and two new CIO's strengthening the EuroCIO Board with the Romania presence now and a new BCS Elite UK Board member. In addition, the European Patent Office has joined EuroCIO as a Direct Member!

Over the last months three main supplier relationship initiatives were launched with SAP, Microsoft and Oracle, which are currently running in a very coordinated manner with all National Bodies.

We kicked off on June 26th the National Body(NB) Coordination workgroup to enable the discussion of European policies with reps of the National CIO Associations as well as with the European Commission.

This NB Coordination workgroup enables also as a key activity to consolidate and communicate the challenges encountered by our CIO Community working with IT vendors.

Another Council has been kicked off, i.e. the Innovative Solutions & Initiatives (ISI) Council with focus on the key "Innovation" role for all of us as CIO and with attention to start ups!

Another Newsflash will inform you about the projects ongoing with the European Commission.

We look forward meeting you at one of the next Councils and workgroups and for sure at the next event of the Annual Conference on November 29/30.

See attached the agenda of EuroCIO activities for the Sept-Dec 2017 timeframe. In case of questions or suggestions, please let us know.

Let us continue building this European CIO Community and inspiring each other to more innovation and to more growth of the European Economy!!

See or hear you soon and thanks for your interest and support!

Emmanuel Gaudin and Thomas Endres.
